Brookline, MA is a community of almost 59,000 people with a unique mixture of busy streets and rolling countryside, upscale shops and village pubs, gracious apartment buildings and large estates. Many professors from area institutes and universities call Brookline home as well as many professionals who enjoy a quick commute to downtown Boston.

Brookline perhaps is best known for the neighborhood where John F. Kennedy was born, 83 Beals Street. Distinguished by its towering sycamore tree canopy, Beals Street is a quiet, restful contrast to bustling Harvard Street.

EDUCATION

Brookline provides an extraordinary education for every child. Each students path to acheivement is supported in an academically exciting and programmatically rich environment. The staff gets to know students intellectually, developmentally and culturally. Schools use a variety of assessments to get the fullest picture of student learning and growth overtime, and this data is used to form the basis of how they understand and improve student, teacher, and administrator performance. There are both public and private schools for all ages and grade levels in Brookline. Every public school in the town, not including Brookline High School, has an in-house after school care program for its students.

RECREATIONAL FACILITIES

Brookline boasts a wonderful parks and recreation system – which is delightful for families, children and visitors all year round. Despite its urban character and prxoimity to Boston, Brookline has a rich legacy of parks, conservations, open space, and recreation programs which its citizens greatly value and enjoy. Brookline also provides its residents with a superb recreation department that includes many different types of programs, activities, and facilities for all ages. The town’s recreational facilities include parks, an ice skating rink, a golf course at Putterham Meadows Golf Club, the Kirrane aquatics center, the Soule Recreation Center, and an environmental education center. The programs and activities offered range from after school programs, to camps, to sports teams and even recreational therapy.
